Elton John has listed his 13,500-square-foot condo in Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood for just under $5-million. He used it as a base when he was touring as it was easy to fly almost anywhere in the U.S. from the nearby Dekalb-Peachtree Airport, so he was able to sleep in his own bed most nights.

“After years and years of touring, it was so comforting just to come home instead of staying in a hotel,” he says in The Wall Street Journal.

He bought it in 1992 after leaving rehab because he was dating someone in the area. He also started collecting photos then, which led him to buy five more apartments over the next 20 years, combining them into one four-bedroom space.

“The only people I knew were real people, who had normal jobs. The city adopted me and I adopted it.

“I didn’t know what the first apartment that I bought would lead to. But it was a wonderful surprise. Everything about Atlanta was a surprise."

The apartment has a gym and a massage room, a formal dining room with an overhead gallery space, a wood-paneled office and lounge area, and a grand salon with floor-to-ceiling windows. The primary suite features an adjoining seating area and a spa-like bathroom clad in onyx. It also includes numerous expansive closets.

It also comes with nine reserved parking spaces, six private storage units, and five dedicated wine storage units.
