There is NO Nude Beach in Chicago
No, Chicago doesn’t have a brand new NUDE BEACH. An official-looking sign randomly showed up at Loyola Beach along Lake Michigan, which says, “Nude Beach Past This Sign.” …

Back in 1891, the Michigan Triangle was the topic of the disappearance of Thomas Hume, a three-masted schooner. He was journeying from Chicago to Muskegon, but never found again. Finally, in 2006, the wreckage of the Thomas Hume was found by a diver in Lake Michigan, but there’s still research being done to confirm its identity.

An official-looking sign randomly showed up at Loyola Beach along Lake Michigan, which says, "Nude Beach Past This Sign." But it's just a prank.
City officials reported the fake sign, and had it removed. It sounds like it was caught pretty quickly, so it probably wasn't up long enough to trick anyone into taking off their clothes.
There's no word who put the sign up. Maybe it was some high school kids, who were hiding nearby with binoculars. Or maybe it was a HISTORY BUFF.
A city official says that in 1932 . . . more than 90 years ago . . . someone DID introduce a resolution at city council to create a nude beach in that same spot. It didn't happen though. And it's unclear if the prankster knew that.
(Here's a photo of the fake sign, along with a newspaper clipping related to the nude beach resolution back in 1932.)
