Classic Rock History: The Rolling Stones and Muddy Water
I honestly don’t know if many people have seen this video before. I think I watch it about 4 times, seeing something new each time. This video is from 1981, The Rolling Stones walk into the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago to watch Muddy Waters perform. As the Stones take some time to get settled in during a great night of partying. Muddy Waters keeps trying to get the boys to come on stage. First, Mick goes, then Keith and finally Ronnie Wood.
I love this video, it gives you a real look into the old club/lounge life of the 70s and 80s. You can see everyone is just having an amazing time with some amazing music and company.

It’s like jumping into a time machine. Smoked fills the air, drinks are being passed around and everyone is just absolutely jamming. I couldn’t imagine, sitting at home that night, getting ready to go to the Checkerboard lounge and then seeing this!

I wanted to bring this video back in your attention because now is a very exciting time for any Rolling Stones fan. The band releasing their 24th studio album. It is set to come out on October 20th.

I cannot wait for this, and you know they will take this show on the road. I have to see them, I never have and would love to before they finally hang it up. But, knowing the stones, they never will.
