It was a great but emotional weekend downtown at Comerica Park as we said goodbye and thanks to Miggy one last time.

We have known for months that Miguel Cabrera was calling it quits at the end of this year, I don't think a lot of us actually thought that time would get here. Over the weekend, fans, players and this city said goodbye to Miggy's playing days one final time. What a scene it was all weekend at the park. From seeing Miggy's mom and dad throw out the first pitch, to see Miggy make an out at first to end his career. It was truly a special weekend that I know I won't forget anytime soon.

I wanted to create a post that pulled all of my favorite moments from the Miggy celebration together. Sometimes, I think the lack of success from the Tigers in recent years has allowed people to forget how special Miggy was to the game of baseball.

Miggy got a lot of gifts from the Tigers, but the scooter may have been the best.

Honestly, Miggy is in my opinion the greatest right handed hitter to ever play the game. This tribute video says it all!

It was a full weekend of celebrating and one of the coolest things happened on Sunday. AJ Hinch put Miggy in at first base so he could walk off the field one last time. Of course is amazing sports fashion, Miggy got hit a ground ball to end it all. The baseball gods were making sure this ended the right way.

THE TIGERS GOT IT RIGHT:

The Tigers organization did right by Miggy and the fans over the weekend. They truly pulled out all of the stops including allowing his kids to announce him for his last at bat.

Check out more from Miggy's final weekend, including the amazing drone show from Friday night.

Again, understand what we got to see for 15 years. You may never see another player like it.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
