Most times, I pass right over these but you cannot deny pasta on it's day. Pasta has got to be in the top 5 of all food. Here is a list that may back it up.

t's National Pasta Day! A poll found 75% of us eat it at least once a week, including 5% who said every day. So what's your favorite pasta shape? Spaghetti is #1 with 33% of the vote, followed by penne and macaroni.

A few national chains have pasta deals. Nothing too crazy, but Today.com did a round-up if you want to check it out. They went with the excellent headline, "Eight Pasta Day Deals to Save a PENNE or Two."

Here are a few more stats on our pasta-eating habits . . .

1. What's your favorite pasta shape? Spaghetti is #1 with 33% of the vote. Then it's penne, 12% . . . macaroni, 11% . . . and tortellini, 7%.

2. What's the best pasta shape specifically for mac-and-cheese? Macaroni got the most votes. But 12% prefer shells . . . 7% prefer corkscrews . . . 6% said bowtie pasta . . . 5% like penne . . . and 5% think rotini is best.

3. What's your favorite sauce . . . alfredo, pesto, or spaghetti sauce? 52% said spaghetti sauce, and 44% said alfredo. Just 4% said pesto is their #1.

4. 93% of Americans always have at least one box or bag of pasta in the house.

5. 21% of us use a fork and spoon to eat spaghetti. The spoon is for twirling.

6. When you make spaghetti, do you usually break it in half? 50% of us do, mostly because it's easier to fit in the pot. 38% don't . . . 4% said it varies . . . and 8% said they never make spaghetti.

7. And finally: Only 3% of us never eat pasta. 75% have it at least once a week

This woman posted to TikTok about her Pasta Pesto and it's getting crazy now.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS:

I have to be honest here, I love Penne. I have never liked angle hair or regular noodles. I don't want to try that hard to pick something up with a fork. Also, Monday nights are the best day for making spaghetti, you had a long day getting back to the work week and you want something that is quick, easy and tasty.

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
