Camels Escape At Cedar Point And Create Chaos

It’s been an interesting week or so for our friends at Cedar Point – first we had a fishfly infestation (see video here) and now camels escape. So what happened?…

It’s been an interesting week or so for our friends at Cedar Point - first we had a fishfly infestation (see video here) and now camels escape. So what happened? Let’s break it down, shall we:

Camels Escape - The Timeline (I sound like we’re doing a crime drama)

On Tuesday a couple of camels (we’ll call them the perps) broke out of “The Barnyard” petting zoo at Cedar Point and took off down the midway. Obviously they were freaked out - but no one was injured (good news), although there were definitely a couple of close calls - including one with a man in a wheelchair (would people quit posting the “back up terry” video with this). How would you react if you saw a camel running towards you? There are plenty of videos on how to deal with a bear - but I couldn't find a lot about camels at amusement parks running towards people. Weird.

Camels Escape At Cedar Point - The Aftermath

So what caused camel chaos at Cedar Point? Folks at the park are still investigating how they got out of the petting zoo (for the record the camels were safely returned to the petting zoo where they’re back to smoking a cigarette and asking people what day it is).

I’ve got questions though:

  • Did the camels have to pay to ride any rides at Cedar Point (I mean technically they are park employees)
  • Between the fishflies and camels on the loose in the park, is there a bigger conspiracy going on? (I knew Ryan would love this one)...do the animals have their own facebook group where they share road trip advice and head to Cedar Point.
  • Is it just me, or do camels always look like they’d kick your ass if given a chance? These camels in one video definitely look two dudes pinning someone up against a fence and asking for money.
