Awesome Red Wings Ron Burgundy Connection With New Goalie
The Red Wings Ron Burgundy connection is strong after Detroit picked up a couple of goalies during the first day of free agency on Monday – one of them being Cam Talbot (formerly of the Los Angeles Kings), who’s also a big Ron Burgundy fan…how big you ask? Check out this mask (and how Will Ferrell reacted):
Here’s Another Angle on the Mask – now the Red Wings Ron Burgundy connection
So will he wear a new Red Wings version of this helmet here in Detroit? Creating the Red Wings Ron Burgundy connection….but maybe we can go another way, right? (not that we didn’t love the one he did out in L.A.) We hope so – and here’s a couple of reasons why:
- Detroit connection with Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers (who has a long standing “fued” with Will Ferrell…could be great to see Ron appear at a Wings game)
- Ron Burgundy would look amazing floating into the London Chophouse before a game
- We’re cool.
What Similar Detroit Movie Stars Mask Could We Create
Maybe we need to come up with some different ideas for our new goalie – more of a Detroit theme, right?
Here’s a couple:
- Eminem from “8 Mile” – kind of a no brainer, I’m wondering why anyone hasn’t done a mask already for him.
- Robocop – I mean, come on…that’s just cool and kind of badass right? (“one way or another, you’re losing to me…creep”)
- Axel Foley from “Beverly Hills Cop” – you could have a ton of fun with this one. Maybe the banana up the tailpipe reference on it, or just the Lions varsity jacket on the side.
- Bob Seger Silver Bullet – It would look cool, right? (and yes, I know…shocking – Jim worked Bob Seger into a story about Detroit)
- George – remember the cute little kid who became quite the rock star for his reactions to the fan cam?
