Hurricane Beryl is expected to bring some nasty conditions to Texas this week. As well as into the Midwest midweek.

Heavy Hurricane aftermath might be heading our way

What Is Comming Our Way As In Weather Conditions

What states like Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois will feel from the aftermath is anyone's guess. Once Beryl hits the State of Texas, weather models are expected to travel our way North, hitting the South and Midwest on their way to us here in Michigan, is anyone's guess.

So Far So Good?

The current weather maps show the storm will hopefully weaken as it heads our way, but it won't be that nice to our friends in Arkansas this week. It still could be a tropical depression with Maximum wind speeds of 38 mph or less.

Now I have never experienced any Hurricane conditions. But I have had many Florida friends and family tell me they would rather go through a few painful root canals.

We're tracking the potential impacts of the remnants of Beryl to central Indiana towards mid-week.

Things To Keep An Eye Out Here

Most worries stem from a problem we deal with regularly here in Michigan: flooding and Flash Flooding, with several inches of rain in a short period of time. On top of all this, we are in the middle of road construction season—kind of a double whammy. As forecasters expect, some of the heavy rain will reach Illinois by mid-week.

When Does Hurricane Season Start And End?

Hurricane season officially runs from June 1 through November 30. The National Hurricane Center picked these six months because it accounts for about 97% of all Atlantic tropical storms and hurricanes, according to NOAA's Hurricane Research Division.

Emergency management officials are encouraging families and residents to stay prepared in this hurricane season.

NOAA Predicts An Above Normal Hurricane Season This Year

NOAA is forecasting a range of 17 to 25 total named storms with winds of 39 mph or higher. Of those, 8 to 13 are forecast to become hurricanes with 74 mph or higher winds, including 4 to 7 major hurricanes category 3, 4 or 5, with 111 mph or higher winds.

This Season's Hurricane Names

Alberto, Beryl, Chris, Debby, Ernesto, Francine, Gordon, Helene, Isaac, Joyce, Kirk, Leslie, Milton, Nadine, Oscar, Patty, Rafael, Sara, Tony, Valerie, and William
