‘Too Fast For Love,” and from the moment you hear Mick Mars’ chugging opening riff, you know Motley Crue is not a band to be messed with. It’s the type of song that can only be written by someone young and hungry. You can’t get away with writing lyrics like, “Because I'm hot, young, running free/A little bit better than I used to be,” when you’re three albums into your career.

The bands did tour together back in time. Both hailing from Los Angeles, Guns N' Roses came along a couple of years after Motley Crue's debut, Too Fast for Love, came out in 1981 and briefly in 1987 for about a month.

Guns and Roses were open to the idea early on, but their breakthrough album, Appetite for Destruction, had not yet been released. As the story goes, when it came time, the nod was given to the band Whitesnake.
