Being a popular dog is a big business. You've probably seen a bunch of dogs on social media racking up thousands or even millions of followers. As it turns out, these pups have power. Michigan actually has the world's top dog influencer, according to dog experts, and his posts are worth a lot of dough.

Michigan Has the World's Top Dog Influencer

It's so interesting to me that dog influencers are a thing. I have a friend who rescues dogs, and she dabbles in posting photos of her pups and giving them personalities online. It's fun and cute, and she has a blast with it. But, it's not like she's doing this as a business. As it turns out, some dogs on social media really are a business, because they can earn so much money with each social post. The most famous and popular dog influencers in the world can early up to $25,000 for just one post.

The dog experts at Showsight Magazine have put together a roster of the biggest dog influencers in the world based on followers, average likes and earnings per post. Per their research, these pups comprise the most influential dogs on social media.

Before we get to Michigan, let's look at a few others on the tally. The adorable Teddy comes in at No. 3, with the Instagram handle of @aguyandagoldenn. Teddy has a whopping 4.1 million Instagram followers, average numbers of 213,476 likes per Instagram post and potential earnings of $25,200 per post. On TikTok, Teddy has 8.3 million followers and 301 million TikTok likes. According to Instagram, Teddy is based in Greenville, South Carolina. No. 2 on the tally is Doug with the Instagram handle @itsdougthepug. He has 3.6 million Instagram followers, an average number of 43,998 likes per Instagram post and potential earnings of $22,700 per post. He also has 6.1 million TikTok followers and 101.5 TikTok likes.

Now, let's get to Michigan. According to Showsight Magazine, the No. 1 most popular dog influencer in the world is the cuddly Tucker, with the Instagram handle of @tuckerbudzyn. According to Tucker's Facebook page, he's based in Michigan. Tucker has 3.8 million Instagram followers, an average number of likes per post of 304,869 and can earn around $23,600 per post. Tucket also has 11.4 million TikTok followers and 256.4 TikTok likes. That's so crazy. I thought my personal Instagram and TikTok followings were pretty good, but I guess the doggies have me beat. It's really cute to see these pups being so popular online. I just hope their owners give them some of that cash in the form of extra special treats. Tucker isn't the same dog pictured above, but you can see Tucker and his buddy below via Instagram.
