Running Over Her Boyfriend – 1 Crazy Way To End A Relationship
No, it’s not lyrics from a Carrie Underwood song (but it could be) – this woman was charged with running over her boyfriend…on the way to couples therapy. Now that I think of it, this really could be a Carrie Underwood lyric, right?
Running Over Her Boyfriend – Details
It happened last week. 30-year-old Veronica Gast was behind the wheel, and her boyfriend was in the passenger’s seat. They’d been fighting all day, but things got heated on their drive and he BROKE UP with her.
He says he told her their relationship was over, and asked her to take him home. But she stopped in the middle of the road and told him to get out. So he did (bad move dude). I’m not sure if it’s technically a “car fail” – but damn…
Their stories differ after that. But he says they locked eyes as he was crossing in FRONT of her car . . . a crucial mistake on his part. (editors note: You’d think after a year with her, and on their way to couple therapy he’d know her enough to not walk in front of the car….especially after they’d been fighting all day).
He says she floored it, causing him to fly over the hood and slam into her windshield. Luckily, he’s okay.
He ended up with a cut on his right elbow, and she ended up with a cracked windshield. He says it happened when she hit him. She claims it happened when he PUNCHED the windshield out of anger.
She also tried to claim she didn’t hit him on purpose, and she just didn’t see him there. But she eventually changed her story and admitted she did.
She’s facing second-degree assault charges, and it sounds like their relationship is officially over.
Couple of thoughts:
- How many of their friends, when they heard the story, simply rolled their eyes and said “yeah, running over her boyfriend sounds right”
- I’ll give them each six months until their back together (tell me i’m wrong)
- The Detroiter in me wants to know what kind of car. (don’t judge me)
- Now I’m humming that damn Carrie Underwood song.
