Michael Anthony, former Van Halen Bass player, was 'Very Surprised' When He Heard About ALEX VAN HALEN's Upcoming Book during the August 22 appearance on SiriusXM.'
Michael Anthony was asked if he has been in contact with Alex Van Halen since the former VAN HALEN bassist launched a tour with singer Sammy Hagar, transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET.
"No, I haven't. In fact, the last time I tried to get ahold of Alex, I tried to get ahold of him on his birthday in May, but I did not hear back from him. So, I don't know. I didn't wanna push it or keep trying to get a hold of him or whatever. I figured he knew that I tried to get ahold of him, I think, so I just kind of left it at that. God, at this point, I'm just waiting for his book to come out so I can read that."

I know David Lee Roth's quiet is like an oxymoron. It’s well known that Alex was a bully, intimidated Ed into doing what he wanted (like cutting Mike out of his share of the band), and drank like a fish. Plus, he’s been married three times. Not an easy guy to be around.
David Lee Roth hasn't said squat so far about the book, he will probably wait till after the book comes out to refute or backstep Alex's words. Something tells me some mud is coming to Dave's ego.

When Sammy Hagar joined Van Halen, he went to the Van Halen camp to jam with the boys. What happened after was magic. Hit after hit, and record sales and tours were incredible.
But with every magic trick, you find out how it's done. Sammy has said to the press that it had to deal with a different manager that the brothers put in place. Maybe the new book will shed some light on that storyline.
Sammy Hagar is not shy about talking to the press. Sammy was happy to patch things up with Eddie Van Halen before his passing.
But Sammy is now floating the idea that Alex is ignoring him because he will publish his autobiography, Brothers, this fall. “I'm sure when he made his book deal, they said, 'You cannot talk to Dave [Lee Roth], and you cannot talk to Hagar,” says the Red Rocker.
