The Goonies Sequel is all the talk on social media as plans get the ok with the original cast.

According to IDBM.com, numerous reports in UK tabloids suggest that the greenlight has been given for a sequel to the 1980s classic The Goonies.


A group of kids set out on an adventure in search of pirate treasure that could save their homes from foreclosure.

Warner Bros knows they have to get it right and not mess up the original storyline.

What About The Original Cast?

“Major stars will likely come back, but the possibilities of where to take the sequel are endless.” If the story is true, production will likely commence next summer for a 2026/2027 release.

The Original Film Is Coming Up On Its 40th Anniversary

the movie was based on a story by Steven Spielberg and followed a group of kids who live in the “Goon Docks” neighborhood of Astoria, Oregon, attempt to save their homes from foreclosure and, in doing so, they discover an old treasure map that takes them on an adventure to unearth the long-lost fortune of One-Eyed Willy, a legendary 17th-century pirate. During the adventure, they are pursued by a family of criminals who want the treasure for themselves.
