Jon Bon Jovi had an interesting encounter while in Nashville Tuesday.

While crossing the John Seigenthaler Pedestrian Bridge over the Cumberland River around 6 p.m. for a video shoot, he came upon a woman who appeared to be getting ready to jump. He reportedly spoke with her and convinced her otherwise.

A source close to the singer tells us that out of respect to this woman, who was clearly having a moment of crisis, Jon Bon Jovi is not going to comment. Fittingly, September is Suicide Prevention Month.

Jon’s JBJ Soul Foundation routinely deals with people in crisis from hunger to homelessness among other issues, so he has extensive training in speaking to individuals in crisis.

Jon was filming a video for the new version of "The People’s House" off his band's latest album, Forever. This version features the country duo The War and Treaty, but they weren't there Tuesday, having already filmed their part.
