Why Don’t We Have a Coney Dog Beer Here in Detroit?

Seriously – we live in a city with Paczki flavored vodka (which is magical btw), but no one’s made a Coney Dog Beer? Here’s why I bring this up: Texas…

Texas has thrown down the flavored beer gauntlet

If you’ve never been to the State Fair of Texas, it’s a BIG deal - such a big deal that a brewing company has come up with a mustard flavored beer as a salute to Fletcher’s Corny Dog (they’re the folks who created the corn dog…and it’s pretty damn amazing).

But this wasn’t the first mustard beer…A while back, French's Mustard created a limited-edition MUSTARD BEER.  And it sold out.

So if you’re into mustard in your beer (and aren’t we all?) - this is your chance. It's described as a bold and tangy brew with a mustard yellow hue.  The brewery added one gallon of mustard for every 12 gallons of beer in the brew.

Coney Dog Beer - Lets Do This

Again, I’m using the Detroit City Distillery Paczki Vodka as a reference. Watching them throw beautiful paczki into the vodka vat is a sight to see. Couldn’t we do the same thing? Simply head over to American Coney Island and get 100 to go - get a local beer brewery to let us add them and BINGO, Detroit magic baby! Wouldn’t you try it?
