Simmons later received backlash for his comments throughout the night, with some viewers labeling him "creepy" because of his feedback that focused mainly on looks and appearances instead of the dancing.
The Music That Rocked The Night
Classic hair metal songs from the 1980s, such as Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Warrant, Twisted Sister, Quiet Riot, Poison, Scorpions, and almost every group, are being ignored on award shows nowadays.
Simmons's score was all the more confusing, he also received a chorus of boos after revealing his score for contestant Reginald VelJohnson, whose routine was set to the song, "I Wanna Rock" by TWISTED SISTER with pro partner Emma Slater.
Fans of Dancing With The Stars Take To Social Media
Some ripped into Simmons, writing: "Hey Gene! I just wanna remind you that this is a dancing show, NOT a beauty contest. Respectfully, never come back, pls, and thank you, #DWTS."
Another user wrote, "Something tells me that he tried to give out 10s twice, and the judges' bts were like… now. You have to earn those 10s from actual judges.
Tiffany wrote: "Want an apology for having to listen to him for 2 hours!"

Some blamed "Dancing With The Stars" for inviting Simmons on the show in the first place. "You can tell that this guest judge is racist and sexist based off the scores that he's giving!" one person wrote. "This is absolutely ridiculous and disgusting shame on you guys for having him as a judge!"
Gene did tell everyone live on the air, "But I want to tell you, as a guy that's been on the stage for half a century around the world, I'm kind of a big deal."
