Alex Van Halen has news on VH Vaulted Music: “There Are 3 Or 4 Records Worth Of Material If Not More.”

According to the Chris Jericho podcast, " Talk Is Jericho." Alex Van Halen delved into the emotional process of writing his memoir, “Brothers.” The book is a love letter to his late brother, Eddie Van Halen, following Eddie’s untimely passing.

“Ed and I were tight. We worked together, we played together, we did whatever. But when he was near the end of his life because of COVID, it was tough to visit him in person and to see him.

How Much Leftover Van Halen Music Could There Be?

Alex Van Halen addressed the possibility of unreleased Eddie Van Halen music seeing the light of day. He explained the process of sifting through the vault of recordings, emphasizing the importance of maintaining the band’s creative integrity.

Alex and Eddie’s son, Wolfgang, keepers an extensive archive of unreleased material. There is enough for two or three albums.

Van Halen Singer Gary Cherone On Lost VH Album

Van Halen was going to give it another shot with Gary Cherone. They regrouped at Eddie Van Halen's 5150 Studios to begin work on a second album with the former Extreme singer, despite the critical and commercial drubbing they took with 1998's Van Halen III.

While certainly not the fault of singer Gary Cherone, 'Van Halen III' wasn't well-received by my fans or critics.

A May 19, 1999, post on the band's website revealed that Eddie Van Halen, his brother Alex, Cherone, and bassist Michael Anthony had worked on demos for seven tracks and wrote as many as 20 new songs together. Cherone described the "four-on-the-floor" "Left for Dead" as "one of the most uptempo songs the band has done," and explained that the lyrics of "Say Uncle" focused on "a dominant woman and a willing, submissive man."

Eddie Van Halen and Gary Cherone were both going through personal demons at the time, which ultimately kept the record from being released and resulted in Gary's November 5, 1999 departure from the group. Gary has said he wasn't in a great place mentally. I had some things going on in my personal life that affected me. When we broke up, it was mutual."
