 The Ice Rink at Campus Martius Park has been named the Best Ice Rink in the country by USA TODAY readers.

USA TODAY, 2024 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards winter fun category winners on Friday.

According to USA TODAY, on its social media website, 10Best "highlights the best in various travel and lifestyle categories, including destinations, food and drink, and attractions."

The Rink is an outdoor skating venue located in the heart of Detroit on Woodward Avenue, open seven days a week, even on holidays, from November through March. You can purchase tickets here.

How Does The Competition Stack Up?

The Rink beat out all other nominees in the newspapers' 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards. Travel experts select 20 nominees and then allow voters to pick their favorite. 

Nearly 100,000 skaters visit the ice skating rink each year. The Rink even beat out the famous Ice skating rink at Wollman Rink NYC, which captures the magic of New York City. In the heart of Central Park.

Other cities that we left in the snow were Chicago, Texas, and Kansas City.

What Makes The Rink At Campus Martius So Wonderful?

Spanning 7,200 square feet, The Rink has grown over its 21-year history into a destination that attracts not only families and casual skaters but also elite athletes and mission-driven events. Olympic and U.S. champion skaters like Nathan Chen, Meryl Davis, and Charlie White, Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation’s Cancer show, which blends the joy of skating with the mission of raising awareness and funds for cancer research.

The Rink is the recently introduced CHALET 313, designed by Gardner White. This glass-enclosed, two-story heated lounge offers visitors a cozy retreat to soak in the holiday atmosphere of Campus Martius Park, which is so beautiful at Christmas time. Overlooking the rink, Detroit’s iconic Christmas tree, and the city’s skyline, the CHALET provides a space to relax and enjoy holiday cocktails, hot cocoa, and snacks.
