Home Bakery hooked it up Lions style. The bakery on Main Street in downtown Rochester is decorated in blue and white lights for the Big Bright Light Show this year. It's a perfect fit for their Detroit-themed window. The highlight of the display is a cake that is a life size replica of Amon-Ra St. Brown in his iconic headstand pose.

The Amon-Ra St. Brown cake looks amazing and there is non-stop traffic in front of Home Bakery. People are lining up to take selfies with the cake while visiting the Big Bright Light Show.

About The Amon-Ra St. Brown Cake

Heather Tocco, the owner of Home Bakery spoke with Big Jim's House about the Amon-Ra St. Brown cake. Heather said it took her and 11 staff members to create the life-size cake of the Detroit Lions running back, Is he entirely made of cake? No. The display is also a lot of Rice Krispies and even Styrofoam. Cake is too heavy to allow for the vertical nature of the pose. You can hear our whole conversation with Heather in Jim Bits.

The Home Bakery storefront has non-stop traffic. I was in Rochester from 3-7pm on Saturday, January 11th. People were congregated around Home Bakery and taking selfies the entire time. Then this happened:

Amon-Ra St. Brown Talks About the Cake on His Podcast

Amon-Ra invited people to stop by Home Bakery and buy something in between January 13th and 16th, 2025. He said everyone who buys something will be registered to win a pair of tickets.... HIS tickets to the next Detroit Lions playoff game. We checked back with Heather and she confirmed this is happening.

Heather said everyone is asking for Lions themed treats. One of the most popular items is this Jahmyr Gibbs jersey cake.

Jim O'Brien Stops By Home Bakery

Jim O'Brien of Big Jim's House stopped in to speak with owner, Heather Tocco, a few days ago Heather told Jim during the visit that response has be overwhelming, but the downtown has been organized and working as a team to help keep things moving smoothly.

When I was in Rochester Saturday night (January 11th), the streets were bustling with a lot of Lions themed gear in shop windows up and down Main Street. Rochester has decided to leave the Big Bright Light Show up past its original end date of January 19th, 2025. Instead, the downtown will stay lit through February 9th. I think this is a genius move. I also think Rochester should consider moving the end into February moving forward. It was so nice to enjoy the lights during the month that's usually a letdown from the holidays.
