Herman Moore Talks Lions Playoffs, Dan Campbell’s Culture Shift, and Commanders Showdown
Big Jim’s House got a dose of football greatness as former Detroit Lion Herman Moore stopped by the studio. Braving what Big Jim jokingly dubbed “Snowmageddon 2025,” Moore arrived ready to talk Lions playoff vibes, team culture, and even a little smack talk.

“I barely made it, but I’m here,” Herman said with a grin. “I wouldn’t have it any other way. I braved the Michigan storms to get here!”
Big Jim fired back, “We didn’t mean to drag you through the blizzard, man. But hey, it’s worth it, right?”
“Of course. There’s worse weather on the way, so I figured I’d get ahead of it,” Moore quipped.
Let’s just say the snow wasn’t enough to cool down the red-hot Lions talk in the studio.
Commanders Beware: Herman’s Got Confidence
After some playful banter about the snow (and Doni lamenting about “snow on a Saturday”), the trio got down to business: the upcoming game against the Washington Commanders.

Big Jim didn’t hold back. “The good news for the Commanders is they won’t be here long. They’ll play, lose, and head home with their tails between their legs.”
Moore, clearly loving the energy, agreed. “Exactly. They’ll come in, take the L, and start prepping for their offseason.”
When it came to breaking down the match-up, Herman’s confidence in the Lions was tangible.
“That win against Minnesota was huge—it set the tone,” he explained. “Looking at how other teams have fared, Tampa would’ve been tougher. But as long as the Lions keep the Commanders’ quarterback contained, we’ve got a great shot.”
Excitement filled the room. Even Doni, who’s usually the “one game at a time” voice of reason, couldn’t help but feel the buzz.
Dan Campbell’s culture shift: envy from a legend

The conversation shifted to a broader view of the Lions’ resurgence and the culture shift under head coach Dan Campbell. Herman Moore didn’t hold back his admiration.
“Dan Campbell has completely transformed this team’s culture and attitude,” Moore said passionately. “It’s all about winning, being your best, and working together. That mindset is unshakable.”
Big Jim posed an important question: Do players adapt to fit the coach’s mindset, or does the coach adjust to the players?
Herman’s response was insightful. “What’s happening now is a true collaboration. In the past, it was usually one or the other—either the coach imposed their philosophy, or players pushed for their way. But now, there’s mutual respect and teamwork.”
He even admitted a little envy. “As a former player, I’d have loved to play under this kind of leadership. It’s not just about individual greatness—it’s about bringing your best self to the team and working toward a common goal.”
Doni summed it up perfectly: “It’s about respect and team culture.”
Lions Nation Unite: bringing fans together
Speaking of culture, Herman shared his thoughts on how Lions Nation Unite has connected fans across the country.
“It’s incredible,” he said. “Whether you’re local or across the country, Lions fans are more connected than ever. There’s inclusivity now—you feel like part of something bigger, no matter where you are.”
Big Jim couldn’t help but agree. “It’s a fun time to be a Lions fan. We run a game prediction contest, and in past seasons, it was hit or miss who’d win. Now, it’s different—there’s confidence every week.”
Doni jumped in with a story about calling out a doubter who didn’t believe in the Lions. “It was hilarious!”
Herman, ever the comedian, joked, “I can confidently predict the score… after the game ends!”
Big Jim laughed. “Classic! Even Dan Miller won’t give us predictions.”
Moore did offer one safe bet: “Jared Goff will take snaps, St. Brown will make plays, and the Lions will show up ready to win.”
Records, rivalries, and a team on fire

Before heading to a break, Big Jim teased Herman about Amon-Ra St. Brown starting to challenge some of his records.
“Bring it on,” Herman said with a chuckle. “But only if you stop asking me for predictions!”
With the Lions riding high, Herman Moore’s visit to Big Jim’s House was a perfect snapshot of the energy and excitement surrounding Detroit football right now. One thing’s for sure: it’s a great time to be a Lions fan.
Stay tuned—there’s more to come, including Moore’s thoughts on St. Brown and how this team stacks up against the records he set back in the day.
The Lions are roaring louder than ever. Are you ready?
