Michigan, We Need To Talk Pizza
So, here’s a hot slice of truth: Michigan, we’re officially the least adventurous pizza eaters in America. That’s right. Of all 50 states, we’re the ones most likely to look at a pizza menu and think, “You know what’s wild? Getting pepperoni for the 500th time.”
Michigan Pizza Eaters Like What They Like
A new poll reveals that the average American hasn’t changed their pizza order in TWO YEARS. TWO. YEARS. And 14% of people have been eating the exact same pizza for more than five years. That’s not pizza loyalty—it’s a cry for help.

But wait, there’s more. The poll also shows that 11% of Michiganders—more than any other state—have NEVER tried a new pizza combination. Never. You guys, what are we doing? Are we scared of mushrooms? Did banana peppers offend us somehow? Do jalapeños remind us of a bad breakup?
Meanwhile, Massachusetts is out here ordering veggie pizzas, like they’re starring in a progressive indie rom-com about “moving on from pepperoni.” And don’t get me started on South Dakota, whose favorite combo is both supreme and meat lover’s. It’s the pizza equivalent of adding extra bacon to your bacon cheeseburger.
Here’s the thing: 57% of Americans say they’re open to trying new pizza combos but don’t know where to start. Here’s an idea—start with literally anything else. Swap sausage for banana peppers. Add jalapeños. Sprinkle on some red pepper flakes. If nothing else, it’ll impress your taste buds and confuse your Domino’s delivery guy.

So, Michigan, let’s make 2025 the year we step up our pizza game. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find a topping that changes your life. Or at least makes you feel a little spicy for once.
Now, what’s your go-to slice? Let me guess. Pepperoni?
BTW – Our man Screamin’ Scott is ALL ABOUT eating pizza for breakfast. Love it!
