On Monday, March 10, a former Detroit Pistons great shared his thoughts on his former team's impressive 2024-2025 season run.

"I'm really happy to see where the Pistons are at," Chauncey Billups said in comments reported by Athlon Sports. "Obviously, my history with the organization...Now that we're done playing them for the year, I can cheer for them," Billups added while congratulating Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff, guard Cade Cunningham, and the Pistons franchise.

"That city has been missing playoff basketball for quite a while, and they've endured some pain there. That's a big-time basketball city, so I'm happy to see them trending forward, playing well...I wish them the best of luck the rest of the way."

During his time in Detroit, Billups helped lead the team to six straight Eastern Conference Finals appearances and the 2004 NBA championship. Billups also received the Finals MVP trophy.

Today, Billups coaches the Portland Trail Blazers, who have struggled in their Western Conference games this season.

Matt’s been in the media game his whole life. He kicked things off at WOVI, his high school station in Novi, MI, then hit the airwaves at Impact 89FM while at Michigan State. But after realizing he didn’t quite have the voice for radio, he made the jump to TV—spending 23 years working for CBS, FOX, and NEWSnet. Now, he’s come full circle, back in radio as Detroit’s Digital Program Director, making noise behind the scenes and keeping things running strong online.
