A striking mix of dining and nightlife burst onto the scene at 205 W. Congress St. when Ora Detroit opened its doors on October 10. Set in Detroit's Financial District, this new addition transforms the old Bankers Trust Building into an upscale venue that switches from restaurant to club as night falls.

At the helm stands Mario Camaj, whose track record shines through places like Tallulah Wine Bar & Bistro in Birmingham and BESA Downtown Detroit. In the kitchen, Andrew Ossowski-Blair brings his skills from a decade of private cooking to craft the menu.

Diners can pick from an array of tastes. The kitchen sends out lamb with zip sauce that melts off the bone. Crispy shrimp pack a spicy punch, while wood-fired flatbreads come topped with seasonal finds. Night owls can grab mini burgers that fit in one hand, gooey cheese melts, and golden-brown chicken strips. When the sun rises, the kitchen whips up creamy shrimp and grits, juicy smash burgers, and sweet French toast dusted with cinnamon.

Each day brings its own rhythm. Live music fills the air on Thursdays and Fridays after 4 p.m., while guests share plates in the lounge. The beat picks up at 9 p.m. as the space shifts to club mode. Weekends start with brunch at 11 a.m., then turn up the energy for nightclub crowds by 5 p.m.

The spot stays closed Monday through Wednesday, opening just for private events.
