Eastern Market in Detroit will open every Sunday through Christmas. Shoppers get more time to buy gifts and support local businesses. The extended hours start this month and run until the Sunday before the holiday.

The venue offers handmade jewelry, exotic honey, and other items made by Michigan artisans. Shoppers can find gifts for everyone on their lists while helping small businesses in the area.

"It's Detroit, it's creatives, and I tend to be drawn to creative people and Detroit-type things," Jack Hunger said, according to ClickOnDetroit.

Kai Tunstull of Touch of Kai sells fragrances at the market. "I just really think that fragrance brings joy," Tunstull said, as per Click On Detroit. "I always tell my customers free smells because I want you to be happy when you pass my table. Whether you buy or not, smells make your whole world happy."

Jay Jermo of Hey Honey LLC said shoppers can find items they won't see in other places. "You can find something unique from a particular artisan down here that you can't find anywhere else," Jay Jermo said.

Christmas tree vendors are available seven days a week. They help shoppers pick trees throughout the season, assisting customers who want the right spruces for their homes.

The market does not charge admission. It is free and open to all visitors. More information and hours are available on the Eastern Market website.
