Michigan food makers now send holiday gift baskets and goods anywhere in the nation. The state trails only California in farm output and transforms what grows here into Coney dog kits and monk-made jams, as per Freep.

Two shops assembled pre-made baskets. Heart of Michigan in Howell and Holland-based Michigan Awesome both craft gift boxes packed with state-made items.

American Coney Island ships kits. National Coney Island does too. Each box contains hot dogs, buns, chili, and paper hats. National Coney Island also sells its hot dogs and chili on their own.

Several makers sell through goldbelly.com. The marketplace website carries goods from Achatz Handmade Pie Co., Buddy's Pizza, American Coney Island, National Coney Island, and Olga's Kitchen.

Grand Traverse Pie Company started almost 30 years ago baking cherry pies with tart cherries and crumb toppings. Now the lineup has more than two dozen fruit flavors and chicken potpies. The Pure Michigan Maple Glazed Apple Pie made with apples grown in the state returned this year.

American Spoon began in 1982 at its Petoskey storefront. This family-owned operation makes handcrafted preserves with fruit from independent farms. Holiday Jam contains sour cherries, tart cranberries, figs, ruby port, brandy, ginger, orange zest, cinnamon, vanilla, star anise, and cloves grown in-state.

BliS Gourmet in Grand Rapids produces bourbon barrel-aged sauces, vinegars, maple syrup, and soy sauce. Chef Steve Stallard created the line, which stands for "Because Life is Short." The Japanese Pantry bundle costs $63.55 and includes spruce-infused ponzu sauce, yuzu vinegar, barrel-aged fish sauce, and bourbon barrel-aged soy sauce (plus chopsticks).

Lawry's Pasty Shop opened in Marquette in 1946. Food & Wine magazine recognized the shop in 2020. An eight-pack of original beef pasties weighing 12 ounces each costs $90 plus shipping. A 12-pack runs $113. A 24-pack is $183. Shipping is a $25 flat rate.

Original Murdick's Fudge on Mackinac Island offers 11 varieties. The maple bourbon pecan flavor uses Iron Fish Distillery's maple syrup and bourbon whiskey. A five-slice gift set with the most popular flavors costs $59.95.

Germack Pistachio Company at Eastern Market celebrated its 100th year in business last year. They sell roasted nuts, seeds, candy, trail mixes, and dried fruits. Roasted pistachios cost $2.99 for a 2.5-ounce bag or $62.99 for a 3.5-pound jar.
