Contest Details: From June 22, 2020 at 10:00am – July 17 at 10:00am, submit a video of your band performing a classic rock song.  Up to Twenty-Four (10) bands will be selected by a panel of WCSX judges and posted for Round One beginning July 17 at or around 3:00 p.m. until 10:00am ET on July 31st , 2020. The top ten (10) Bands selected in Round One will remain on the website and voting will take place beginning on July 31 from 6:00 pm ET until – 10:00am ET on August 14, 2020. The top six (6) Bands selected in Round two will remain on the website and voting will take place beginning on August 14 from 3:00 pm ET until – 10:00am ET on August 21, 2020. On August 21, 2020, at approximately 3:00pm ET, three (3) bands will be selected by the WCSX judges as the prize winners. WCSX-FM ROCKIN WARS: CONTEST

OFFICIAL RULES

These rules apply to WCSX Rockin Wars: Contest (“Contest”) conducted by Beasley Media Group, LLC d/b/a WCSX (“Station”). In addition, the General Contest Rules posted at www.wcsx.com apply to this Contest. If there is a conflict between the General Contest Rules and the Rules for this Contest, the Rules for this Contest shall control.

  1. HOW TO ENTER
  1. The Contest will begin on Monday, June 22, 2020 and end on Friday, August 21, 2020.
  1. To enter online, visit www.wcsx.com and follow the links and instructions to enter the Contest and complete and submit the online entry form beginning on June 22, 2020 at 10:00am Eastern Time (“ET”) and ending on July 17, 2020 at 10:00am ET (“Online Entry Period”). Online entrants are subject to all notices posted online including but not limited to the Station's Privacy Policy. Limit one (1) entry per artist/band during the Online Entry Period regardless if entrant has more than one email address. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same email address. Entries submitted may not be acknowledged or returned. Proof of submission of an entry shall not be deemed proof of receipt by the Contest administrator.
  1. Bands must be in the Rock, Classic Rock genre. Each entry must include a link to one (1) video (“Video Entry”) of an original video of the entrant’s band or solo act performing and singing an original song (or portion of a song) of their choice or one (1) song from the Station’s playlist including artists such as: Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Eagles, Rolling Stones etc… Entrant must have the right to submit the Video Entry. Each entrant must agree to the online submission release in order to submit his or her Video Entry link. When providing a link, it is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure the Video Entry link is set to “public” so that Station personnel can view it at the time of judging. Station is not responsible for any Video Entry links that are removed, faulty or disabled after the Video Entry link is submitted.
  1. The Station, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if such entrant’s associated Video Entry or other content contains illegal, indecent, pornographic or sexually explicit content or otherwise offensive material such as graphic violence or if such Video Entry or other content contains any nudity or content deemed at the Station’s discretion to be unsuitable for public display or posting on the Station’s website. Entries that do not comply with these rules will not be eligible for the Contest. Video Entries may be posted on the Station’s website at www.wcsx.com and by submitting a Video Entry, entrant (1) certifies that he or she has all rights necessary to use the images and music contained in their Video Entry including the express permission of every person who appears in or can be heard in the Video Entry, and (2) grants Station permission to post, embed and/or link to their Video Entry on www.wcsx.com and to use the Video Entry for Contest and other promotional purposes. Station reserves the right to remove from any website and disqualify any entrant if it believes the Video Entry violates the rights of any third party or is otherwise inappropriate for public viewing.
  1. Entrants may submit only one (1) Video Entry per band/artist during the Entry Period. Incomplete, multiple and/or duplicate entries by the same or multiple entrants/bands will be disqualified. Valid entries must contain all information requested. Entrant further understands that the use and exploitation of the Video Entry link may subject him/her to risk of notoriety, publicity, ridicule, scorn and/or indignity.
  1. No member of any band may be signed to a fully executed major record label contract that guarantees the release of 1 or more albums/CDs. All members of the band must be 18 years of age or older. If the right of the entrant to submit the Video Entry or the right of the Station to link to the website containing the video is contested by a third party claiming infringement of their rights, Station reserves the right to remove the link from its site and disqualify the entrant/band from further participation in the Contest in the Station’s sole and absolute discretion.
  1. There will be up to a total one (1) First Place Prize-winning band, one (1) Second Place Prize-winning band, and one (1) Third Place Prize-winning band selected in the Contest.
  1. ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS (APPLIES TO ALL BAND MEMBERS)
  1. This Contest is open to all Station listeners who are 18 years of age or older as of the date of entry into the Contest, who are legal US residents and reside in the Detroit Metro Area, consisting of the following Michigan counties: Lenawee, Monroe, Wayne, Washtenaw, Jackson, Hillsdale, Ingham, Livingston, Oakland, Macomb, St. Clair, Lapeer, Genesee, and Shiawassee; and the following Ohio Counties: Lucas, Fulton, and Williams, except where prohibited by law. All band members must possess a valid, government-issued ID and show proof of residency to verify eligibility.
  1. PRIZES
  1. Up to one (1) First Place Prize will be awarded. The First Place Prize consists of one thousand dollars ($1,000) awarded in the form of a company check issued in the name of one of the agreed upon band members and the opportunity to perform and be recognized through all promotional elements at a Station event in 2020 or 2021 (subject to availability). Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of the check portion of the First Place Prize is $1,000. Performance opportunity portion of the First Place Prize has no cash or other retail value. No cash compensation will be paid to the winning band(s) for their performance, if any.
  1. Up to one (1) Second Place Prize will be awarded. The Second Place Prize consists of five hundred dollars ($500) awarded in the form of a company check issued in the name of one of the agreed upon band members. ARV of the Second Place Prize is $500.
  1. Up to one (1) Third Place Prize will be awarded. The Third Place Prize consists of two hundred fifty dollars ($250) awarded in the form of a company check issued in the name of one of the agreed upon band members. ARV of the Third Place Prize is $250.
  1. No check will be awarded, processed or mailed until winner has claimed the prize at the Station, presented all required documentation, and signed all required releases and tax forms. Checks will then be processed within approximately thirty (30) to ninety (90) days following confirmation of eligibility and completion of all requisite releases and IRS forms.
  1. Prizes or prize certificates must be claimed as directed by the Station at the time of winning. Failure to claim Prize by the specified time will result in forfeiture of the prize. It is the winner’s sole responsibility to claim the Prize or prize certificate within the timeline provided in these Official Rules.
  1. SELECTION OF WINNERS
  1. Up to twenty-four (24) bands will be selected via Station judging as follows to advance to the voting round of the Contest:

On or about July 17, 2020 at approximately 10:00am ET, up to twenty-four (24) bands will be selected by a panel of Station judges from all eligible Video Entries received during the Online Entry Period. Bands will be selected in the sole discretion of the Station judges, based on the following judging criteria: sound, vocal quality, and overall style, performance and presentation in the sole and absolute discretion of the Station judges. Bands will be notified of their selection by telephone and/or email promptly following the judging period. There is no prize associated with being selected as one of the twenty-four (24) bands advancing to the voting round of the Contest.

  1. Up to ten (10) Semi-Finalist bands will be selecting via public voting as follows:

The video link of each of the previously-selected twenty-four (24) bands will be uploaded to the Station website and will be placed on the Contest designated voting page for Round One public voting beginning at 3:00pm ET on July 17, 2020 and ending at 10:00am ET on July 31, 2020. Listeners are permitted to submit one vote per person per day during each Voting Period. The ten (10) bands who receive the most votes will be deemed Semi-Finalist bands and be included in Round Two of voting. In case of a tie, Station judges will decide in their own discretion using the judging criteria described above what band will move to Round Two. Semi-Finalist bands will be notified of their selection by telephone and/or email promptly following the Round One voting period. There is no prize associated with being deemed a Semi-Finalist band.

  1. Up to six (6) Finalist bands will be selected via Station judging and public voting as follows:

The video link of each of the ten (10) Semi-Finalists bands will be uploaded to the Station website and will be placed on the Contest designated voting page for Round Two public voting beginning at 6:00pm ET on July 31, 2020 and ending at 10:00am ET on August 14, 2020. Listeners are permitted to submit one vote per person per day during each Voting Period. The six (6) bands who receive the most votes will be deemed Finalist bands and be included in Round Three of voting. In case of a tie, Station judges will decide in their own discretion using the judging criteria described above what band will move to Round Three. Finalist bands will be notified of their selection by telephone and/or email promptly following the Round One voting period. There is no prize associated with being deemed a Finalist band.

  1. Up to three (3) Prize winning bands will be selected via Station judging and public voting as follows:

The video link of each of the six (6) Finalists bands will be uploaded to the Station website and will be placed on the Contest designated voting page for Round Three public voting beginning at 6:00pm ET on August 14, 2020 and ending at 10:00am ET on August 21, 2020. Listeners are permitted to submit one vote per person per day during each Voting Period. On August 21, 2020 at approximately 3:00pm ET, up to one (1) First Place Prize-winning band, one (1) Second Place Prize-winning band, and one (1) Third Place Prize-winning band will be selected by the Station judges based on the judging criteria described above and the number of votes received during the voting period. Voting will be taken into account but may not be determinative.Prize-winning bands will be announced on the Station and posted on the “Rockin’ Wars” web page located at www.wcsx.com. Prize-winning bands will also be notified by telephone and/or email promptly following the judging/voting period.

  1. Entrants need not to listen to the Station or be present to win.
  1. If any of the three Prize-winning bands cannot be contacted by 12:00pm ET on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, an alternate Prize-winning band may be selected at the Station’s discretion. Any Prize-winning band who fails to respond by this deadline are deemed to be waiving their prize claim and their Prize will be forfeited.
  1. Decisions of Station management with respect to the Contest are final.
  1. CONDITIONS
  1. The Station reserves the right to end any contest or amend these rules upon announcement on air and by publication at www.wcsx.com.
  1. For website contests: By use of the Station’s website and by entering this Contest, entrants agree to the Station’s Terms of Service Agreement and to the use of Personal Information as stated in the Privacy Policy located at www.wcsx.com.
  1. Copies of the written Contest rules and a list of all winners are available during regular business hours at the main studio of the Station, One Radio Plaza, Detroit MI 48220, or by sending a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the Station.
