Dennis Dunaway on Alice Cooper, “School’s Out,” and The Revenge of Alice Cooper Ahead of Detroit Show
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dennis Dunaway, founding bassist and songwriter of the original Alice Cooper band, joins me for an unforgettable conversation about Alice’s new project The Revenge of Alice Cooper and the upcoming Detroit show at Pine Knob (with Judas Priest, October 2nd).
Dennis shares incredible behind-the-scenes stories about writing “School’s Out” (“we were the kids at the back of the class”), the raw energy of new tracks like “Black Mamba,” “Wild Ones,” and “One Night Stand,” and what it was like to record again with Alice and producer Bob Ezrin after all these years. He also looks back on the band’s early Detroit days, from dive hotels on Gratiot to playing the Eastown Theatre with the Stooges and the Grande Ballroom with The Who.
