If you have been in downtown Detroit lately you may have seen a slew of little red bicycles making their way around the motor city streets. These bikes are a labor of love for Lisa Nuszkowski founder and executive director of MoGo. Mogo is Detroit’s first public bike sharing system, with 430 bikes at 43…
Lisa also came up with a plan to help those with limited income have access to the MoGo biking system as well. The company offers an Access Pass, which is a $5 Annual Pass for registered members of the following state benefits programs: Food Assistance, Cash Assistance/Family Independence, Healthy Michigan Plan, Children’s Special Health Care Services, and Child Care Assistance.

In the second half of the podcast, I am always joined by Cyndy Schalter from Turning Point Macomb. This week we chat about the recent overdose of singer and entertainer Demi Lovato.

Everything we know about Demi Lovato's apparent overdose | CNN

More than a week after her apparent overdose, Demi Lovato remains hospitalized.

Some people say she is not a good role model because she is so open about her struggles with depression and drug abuse. Maybe you agree? Cyndy has a different perspective on why it is okay for celebrities to be honest about their struggles. Cyndy and I also discuss a new series on Netflix that examines women’s involvement in space exploration.

To close out the podcast, Cyndy and I discuss something I am guilty of: Putting my foot in my mouth. We have all done it, said something to someone unsolicited and burnt a bridge or hurt someone’s feelings. This is more common than you think. Most of us have had those moments where we walk away from a conversation wondering why we said what we said. Cyndy has some tips about what to say and when or when not to say it.
