Mr. Big, according to last.fm, combined trends of the 80s like melodies, listener-friendly choruses, and “shredding”. In 1989, Mr. Big signed a contract with Atlantic and released their self-titled album, Mr. Big.
The original members consisted of Eric Martin (lead vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Billy Sheehan (bass), and Pat Torpey (drums). They decided to go on a reunion tour for 2023-2024 but replaced Pat Torpey, who passed away from Parkinson’s in 2018, with drummer Nick D’ Virgilio.
