Monroe, Michigan was originally called “Frenchtown.” It was settled by roughly 100 French families that relocated from Detroit and Canada back in the 1700s. Eventually, the name changed to honor U.S. President James Monroe.

What a historic city! The old fashioned downtown is charming with lots of shops and restaurants, and historic monuments and markers! Michigan Beer and Wine Portal really stood out as a cool place located right along the River Raisin. It opens early for coffee, and the view of the river from the morning Sun is beautiful!!!
Ducky Dash is coming to Monroe August 15th at 7pm. It’s a charity Rubber Duck race down the Raisin River to help Triumph Academy.
