The idea is pretty genius: Bret Michaels’ Parti-Gras concept of an “all killer no filler” concert concept has proven extremely successful and a ton of fun. This year’s lineup included a set from former Eagles’ member, Don Felder, Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider, and Lou Gramm, the original voice of Foreigner.
The Parti-Gras Setlist
Lou Gramm sang “Cold As Ice,” “”Hot Blooded,” and “Jukebox Hero.” Lou has said that the Parti-Gras tour will be his last go around on touring. He plans to retire directly following.
By all accounts, Dee Snider’s performance was nothing short of stealing the show. Dee performed “We’re Not Gonna Take It,” “I Wanna Rock,” and a cover of AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell.”
Lou and Dee’s performances were integrated into Bret’s set. Bret played three songs and then tossed things over to Lou… came back three songs, tossed it to Dee and wrapped the night with “Every Rose Has Its Thorn” and “Nothin’ But a Good Time.”
The Parti-Gras Crowd
Everyone was in an exceptionally great mood Friday night. The weather was perfect with blue skies, no humidity, and high 70’s. I ran into a bunch of familiar faces and missed an bunch of people I was hoping to see. Things get crazy hectic, but it’s also a lot of hurry up and wait.
We took our WCSX listeners backstage to meet Bret and enjoyed delicious food from Honcho’s Latin Street Food and Coffee. Bret is so friendly and gracious with people. Everyone had a great time. Thanks again to Hoover Electric for helping power this event.
We also got a chance to go on stage and pump the crowd up before Bret took the stage. It was a great hang with my co-workers and one of the most fun concerts I’ve been to this summer. I never get enough photos, but here are a few of my favorites from the show.
