Doni, Joel and Cameraman Steven took over Berkley for the week. They visited Armadillo Printwear, Holy Cannoli , which is connected to Vitrine (a made in Michigan shop). The City of the Week Crew also checked out the Historic Berkley Theater during their stroll downtown.
Hanging out back of Armadillo Printwear in front of their awesome mural... Dave has been in business in Berkley for 28 years and he really knows his stuff!
Joel and Doni ran into the Fire Marshall on their way in (Armadillo’s has just passed inspection)....Joel tried to stick a WCSX bumper sticker on the man’s clipboard without him noticing... he noticed!
Jon gave Doni and Joel a quick lesson and even let them silk screen their own shirts
Thanks, Jon...everyone loves a free t-shirt. It's a fact!
That's Ed ..he is making a silk screen...you'll see....
Fun Fact: A screen door has about 35 threads per square inch.. the silk screen Doni is holding has 156 threads per square inch!
We broke out the hairnets and learned how to make cannolis with Nicole
Joel was the official cannoli taste tester
He was on a little sugar rush, but what else is new
A couple of classic rockers rocking the hairnets
Next we took a tour of Vitrine. The owner, Susan, is the coolest lady and a huge supporter of Detroit and Michigan products
It says "Detroit" on it...it must be good!
We weren't kidding...just look at how many amazing musicians came out of Michigan!
Doni fit right in with the Detroit theme
Berkley has a Moms' Night Out coming up on October 17th from 5-9...
...There will be special buys and freebies... first 50 in Vitrine get one of the cool bags Joel is holding.
That's right...City of the Week made yet another marquee...at the Historic Berkley Theater. Thanks, Berkley DDA !
