Austin ZidarIt's been almost six years since the legendary rocker and former C.C.R (Credence Clearwater Revival) frontman John Fogerty took the stage at Pine Knob Music Theatre. The wait was worth it for many in attendance for his latest performance as the 79-year-old rocker played to a nearly sold-out crowd with a full 90-minute, 21-song setlist. The set list covered hits from when he performed at the famed 1969 Woodstock Music Festival to his solo years.
If the early Rock n' Roll roots of John Fogerty weren't enough, the stage was graced earlier in the evening by another rock legend, George Thorogood. Thorogood himself kicked off the good times with a playlist of his hits that left the audience in a standing ovation and promises of a return back to Pine Knob someday.
As John Fogerty took the stage, six years between performances seemed to vanish in a haze and the air over Pine Knob was rich in classic rock. The 94.7 WCSX street team arrived early to find some listeners waiting to get in hours before the gates opened. Hopefully we won't have to wait another six years to see Mr. Fogerty return to Pine Knob, he'll be welcomed again by many when he does.
