You’re going to read a lot of people in Detroit talking about Ken Calvert and how he had an impact or impression on their life. From taking Springsteen backstage to meet Seger, hosting King Chili cookoffs and the voice of the Bad Boys (it’ll always be Joeeeeee Duuuummmaaaarrrrs) - KC was a larger than life figure who loved two things more than anything: 

1. His wife Ann

I hope anyone reading this and listened to KC the Casual One realizes what an honor he considered it to broadcast in Detroit. How he loved meeting listeners and hearing their stories. Ken Calvert was everything right with radio - he loved his job and approached it with a passion unrivaled on the air. 

Smile when you think of Ken Calvert. Know how much he enjoyed being that voice.

I’ll miss my friend. I’ll miss having lunch at Redcoat and talking about crossovers with Arthur P and playing softball with Journey. 

The world was a better place with KC in it. Turn that radio up a little bit louder - the Casual One loved you.
