CONGRATULATIONS! Your establishment has been selected as a participant in WCSX’s “Game of Cones” Braccket! This Bracket will be running from 10:00am, Friday June 24 to 11:59pm, Thursday, June 30. We have selected 32 of the best Ice Cream Shops around metro Detroit to be a part of this bracket based on reputation and nominations by our listeners. There is NO COST for you to be a part of this bracket! But there is a PRIZE, and it’s not just bragging rights! More on that below.

The shops will be placed randomly into our 32 Participant Bracket for listeners and patrons to vote for their favorites to advance to the next round. Through voting the entrants will be narrowed down from 32 to 16 to 8 to 4 to 2…and finally to the Number 1 Ice Cream shop as voted on by WCSX listeners. The winner of this bracket is determined 100% by the votes received in the bracket. People can join this bracket and vote at ANYTIME while the bracket is running regardless of what “Round” the bracket is in.

VOTING SCHEDULE

The following are the Dates and Rounds for this bracket:

  • Round 1 – Thirty Two (32) ice cream establishments: will begin on Friday, June 24, 2022 at 10:00AM Eastern Time (“ET”) and end on Thursday June, 30, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. In each matchup, the ice cream establishment with highest votes will advance to Round 2.
  • Round 2 – Sixteen (16) ice cream establishments: will begin on Friday July1, 2022 at 12:00AM ET and end on Tuesday July 5, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. In each matchup, the ice cream establishment with highest votes will advance to Round 3
  • Round 3 – Eight (8) ice cream establishments: will begin on Wednesday July 6, 2022 at 12:00AM ET and end on Monday July 11, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. In each matchup, the ice cream establishment with highest votes will advance to Round 4.
  • Round 4 – four (4) ice cream establishments: will begin on Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 12:00AM and end on Thursday July 14, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. In each matchup, the ice cream establishment with highest votes will advance to Round 5.
  • Round 5 – Two (2) ice cream establishments: will begin on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 12:00AM ET and end on Monday July 18, 2022 at 11:59PM ET. The ice cream establishment with the highest number of votes once Round 5 has concluded will be deemed the winning ice cream establishment, upon confirmation of eligibility.

Winning ice cream establishment will also be announced live on air on the Station during the Big Jim’s House morning show on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 between the hours of 6:00am and 10:00am ET. Winning ice cream establishments will also be notified by phone and/or email on or around Tuesday, July 19, 2022.

You are not required to promote this bracket to be a part of it, we have already included you, but as we mentioned there is a prize! The Ice Cream Shop that finishes as Number 1 will win a WCSX Promotional package valued at $10,000!
