Joel Morgan grew up in Mount Clemens, where rock and roll wasn’t just music—it was a way of life. From a transistor radio with a 9-volt battery to streaming WCSX on a smartphone, the soundtrack never changed.

His first concert? KISS in fourth grade. His mom managed a high-end restaurant with access to concert tickets (that the fancy customers didn’t want), so she handed them off. A head waiter chaperoned, and just like that—Joel was hooked for life.

His radio career has led to encounters with rock legends like Alice Cooper, Van Halen, Aerosmith, Metallica, KISS, Bob Seger, Joan Jett, and more. He’s played pinball with Slash and even kind of had The Rolling Stones play his wedding reception (ask him sometime!).

Since age 12, Joel dreamed of being part of Detroit Rock Radio, inspired by J.J. and Dick the Bruiser. Now, at 94.7 WCSX, that dream is reality—because rock and roll isn’t just music. It’s home.
