For my wife and I, keeping our dog Danny DeVito calm in the has by far been the biggest challenge since we got him over a year ago. Thankfully for us, a study has been done, showing the best and worst songs to play for your pet.

According to a new study, giving your dog control of the tunes can help their demeanor.  But be warned:  Experts say dogs generally prefer reggae and soft rock.  They tend to dislike rock 'n' roll and songs that include whistling.

Here are the Top 10 "calming songs" to keep your dog chill while traveling:

Here is 6 though 10..scroll down to find the top 5!

6.  "One in Ten"UB40

7.  "Hounds of Love"Kate Bush . . . Although if your dog starts levitating, they might be in the clutches of Vecna, so you might want to try "Running Up That Hill".  (???)

8.  "Desperado"The Eagles

9.  "Many Rivers to Cross"Jimmy Cliff

10.  "Your Love Is King"Sade

Now for the worst songs to play while in the car with your pet. I will admit though, I am sure my dog cannot stand when I put a Joe Rogan podcast on while driving!

Here are the five worst to play:

1.  "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin

2.  "Back in Black"AC/DC

3.  "Paranoid"Black Sabbath

4.  "Chop Suey!"System of a Down

5.  "Duality"Slipknot

Here is the full story and lists:

Sadly, if I am listening to music in the car, most off it falls within the "worst song" to play. I love my dog but I need to jam a little AC/DC or Black Sabbath while driving around these crazy roads!

I guess I will have to play some of these songs and see if it really works!

Remember this great dog story from last week?

Hey It’s Ryan, let me start off by saying…YES, I was born and raised in Wixom, Michigan although a lot of listeners like to joke that I am from Arizona. WCSX has always been my radio home, I have been at the station since I was a 23-year-old intern, co-host of Big Jim’s House, married with kids. Family and radio are what I love, but don’t get me started on golf! Like some, I have become obsessed with golf and you can hear all about that on “The Ball Washer Pod” right here on WCSX. One of my other passions is helping out the Vets. Since coming to WCSX I have been apart of raising hundreds of thousands for local vet groups. Other than that, I am a goofy guy, loving life, my family and talking to you on the radio. Ryan writes about golf, family and what happens on “Big Jim’s House.”
