Even after a lifetime in our great state, I did not fully understand just how many Michigan car cruises take place every summer. I checked out cruisnmedia.com for a listing. They have EVERYTHING. Every car-related event is there. The only hard part is you need to know the date or you will be scrolling into 2024. Cruises are a part of the summertime in Michigan! A lot of businesses hold weekly or monthly classic car events. which I love, but this listing is once-a-year cruises, not weekly or monthly events.
Obviously, the cruise down Woodward from Pontiac to Detroit is a big deal every year. It’s been a big deal for a long time. Hard to believe the photo below is from 20 years ago! This year marks the 29th run.

ROYAL OAK, MI – AUGUST 17: (CAR FEATURE 1 of 5) More than a million and a half car enthusiasts line a 16-mile stretch of Woodward Avenue between Detroit and Pontiac, Michigan to watch approximately 30,000 classic and antique cars cruise by during the 8th Annual Woodward Dream Cruise August 17, 2002 in Royal Oak, Michigan. The Cruise is the world’s largest one-day auto event. (Photo by Bill Pugliano/Getty Images)
I really enjoy the cruises. It’s a great day seeing all these vintage cars that have been lovingly cared for by their owners… many times for decades! I met a guy at Autorama that still has his first car! It’s the car he brought to Autorama and includes pictures of the milestones in his life with the car in the background! You can check out the Autorama pics when you CLICK HERE.
This is my “short list” of once-a-year cruises happening in our neck of the woods this summer. If you see an event missing that you think should be here, let me know! Doni@wcsx.com I’ve also added photo galleries of the cruises that have already happened including the Woodward Cruise! Scroll down to check them out!
