The Awesome Posters That Were On My Wall As A Teenager
What type of posters did you have on your wall as a teenager? One right of passage when you had a room to yourself. Self-expression of a favorite sports team, supermodel, tv show icon, cartoon favorite, rock band, or favorite musician. Most posters are found at my local K-Mart or Sears. Black Light posters were at the Plum Pit in East Detroit.
Record stores also had a nice assortment of favorite posters including the guitar heroes like Ritchie Blackmore, Eddie Van Halen, and Jeff Beck. The one poster that got me in a bunch of trouble came with the album from Queen, The Jazz album. Inside the record sleeve was a free poster that was a pretty good size of a bunch of women on bikes all nude! The parents didn’t like that one so it was confiscated and thrown out.
You could have your art show to show off the style you had to friends in the neighborhood. A good poster was kind of like street cred in jr. high or high school.
Let us take a look back at some of the posters that were on my wall in the suburbs of Warren, Michigan. Great childhood memories and wish I had saved some of the posters I had in my room. Find some of these on eBay by clicking here
