If you think being a Detroit Lions fan is rough, try being a Detroit Lions and Michigan State University fan. It’s pretty unbearable. I’m accepting candy corn and hot cocoa from anyone who wants to give me some comfort during these difficult times.
Many were looking to Sunday’s (Oct. 9) game against the New England Patriots as a possible win for the Detroit Lions- or at least not a bloodbath. It was, of course, a bloodbath. The Lions played embarrassingly poor. It’s a long, steep fall from just a few weeks ago, when some NFL analysts were even thinking the Lions could make it to a playoff game.
While the Lions offense is considered very strong, that just didn’t show in this game. Jared Goff had an off day, and the rest of the offense followed suit. Sunday’s game was horrific, as the Lions 29-0 to the New England Patriots. What makes it worst is that the Patriots were using a rookie quarterback, which was their third string quarterback. Not to mention that the Patriots have one of the lowest ranked defenses in the NFL.
Of course, Twitter is ablaze with tweets about Sunday’s game. I resisted the temptation to tweet about my disappointment, but many people have their thoughts to share. It’s all fun and games, unless you are a true Lions fan. Then, it’s blue tears. Check out some of the tweets below.
