Walled Lake is named after the stone wall that once lined the West shore of the lake that was believed to have been constructed by the Potawatomi Native American Indian Tribe that previously lived in the area.
The motto of Walled Lake is “Pride In Our Past, Faith In Our Future..” That says a lot with just a few words!
Walled Lake was once a stop along The Underground Railroad, the network that helped slaves escape to the safety of Canada. The Reilly House, located in Reilly Park still stands in Walled Lake.
Walled Lake Amusement Park opened in 1929 and closed in 1968.
