Let’s end Friday’s workday with some kindness and sweetness!

The Scripps Howard Foundation and Employees of WXYZ-TV and TV-20 are giving away books to low-income kids in the community.
Last summer there was a drive from WXYZ for donations for books. The employees and community collected 10,829 books for over 2000 children.

Mike Murri, Vice President and General manager of WXYZ TV said this “I am so proud of the team at WXYZ-TV and TV20 Detroit, and our viewers, for opening up their hearts and their wallets for the children in our community,”

I am seriously going to read my son some books tonight, what was your favourite book as a kid? Or your kids’ favourite books? My son’s favourite book is “Grover and The Everything in the Whole Wide World Museum”. Ask me to do Grover’s voice sometime!

Here are some great stories I loved sharing with my kids:

  • Everything in the Whole Wide World Museum

  • Captain Raptor and the Moon Mystery

  • The Vanishing Pumpkin

  • Simon's Book

  • Shel Silverstein Where the Sidewalk Ends
