Ryan Gosling poses in press room at the 22nd Annual Hollywood Film Awards on November 04, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.

Joining Margot Robbie’s Barbie in Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie is Ryan Gosling, who will play Ken after a five-year hiatus from acting.

A first-look photo of Gosling in full character was released today (June 15), donning a sleeveless Canadian tuxedo, Calvin Klein-inspired underwear, an orange-hued tan and platinum locks.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Barbie represents the first time the toy has been rendered as a live-action movie, but has been in development for eight years and underwent many changes, with Amy Schumer and Anne Hathaway circling the role during the script’s previous iterations. Back in April, the project released a photo of Margot Robbie. The film’s supporting cast includes America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt, Alexandra Shipp, Emma Mackey, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Issa Rae, Michael Cera, Rhea Perlman and Will Ferrell.

Folks on Twitter had mixed reactions of seeing Ryan Gosling’s new look, with an overwhelming amount swooning. See below:
