WCSX in Rochester: Joel’s Notes
I always love to visit Rochester for City of the Week! This time of year Rochester is bustling with activities and shopping!
I headed straight for Red Knapp’s Dairy Bar, an old-school malt shop/burger diner in the heart of downtown. The crew still remembers us! I recommend the chili, of course! (Joel loves chili)
On to Holy Cannolis: be sure to get there early or pre-order, because they frequently sell completely out! Kathy and her family are the local family that owns Holy Cannolis. have been WCSX rockers for a long time! Bizzy Bee Artist Market is a few doors down. I found a bunch of cool and retro-style items like a Harmony House t-shirt!
The Big Bright Light Show
The absolute highLIGHT of my visit to Rochester was meeting Kristie of the Rochester Downtown Development Association. Kristie invited me to flip the switch to turn on the million-plus lights in the downtown display! I chickened out… I was scared I would break it or something! But it was exhilarating to give the official countdown to 5pm, when they LIGHT UP Rochester!
It was also a privilege to ring the bell for the Salvation Army outside of Holiday Market, where I witnessed firsthand the incredible generosity of the people of Rochester!
