This is a massive week in the city of Detroit. No matter who you are, you are rooting for the hometown Lions to take out San Francisco in the NFC Championship game this Sunday at 6:30pm. It’s truly hard to see anyone from Detroit picking against the Lions this week. It’s our time! As a city, as a community and as Detroiters!
We have been doing the 10k Call the Ball contest on Big Jim’s House every week this season. Getting your picks for each Lions game. We figured, since the stakes are so high for these Lions going forward, we needed to get the pulse of some of local Detroit friends. Below you will find the picks from a couple of our favorite Detroit celebrities. Pickers so far include, Steve Yzerman, Kris Draper, Fox 2’s Deena Centonfanti, Robin Murdoch and Derek Kevra. We also got picks from lawyer Mike Morse and actor and Michigan native Dave Coulier. As more file in, we will add them to the list so you can compare your score.
Personally, I think this is really cool. Hearing from some of our favorite Detroiters before this massive game is fun. And Like I said, I don’t think anyone will be goofy enough to pick against the hometown boys this weekend. This list also shows you how passionate and invested everyone in the city is about this team. Think about it folks, the Detroit Lions are one win away from making it to their first ever Super Bowl. Truly, something I never thought I would say.
