Red Rocker Sammy Hagar Has Another Island Getaway

Rock Legend Sammy Hagar is not showing any signs of slowing down anytime soon and is living life to the fullest with a new venture. Sammy’s Island, a new sun-filled oasis, will bring a vibrant blend of food, spirits, and live music to make days and nights come alive. It will be found poolside at Palms Casino Resort.

Sammy’s Island At The Palms Casino Is Now Open

 A tropical pool getaway inspired by the music and Baja beach vibe of the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer. Featuring a blend of delicious food, refreshing cocktails made with Hagar’s signature spirits, and live music performances to make poolside days and nights come alive.

According to the palms.com website, The island will feature an abundance of stylish cabanas and daybeds, four ultra-exclusive Red Rocker-themed cabanas, a stunning pool island designed for lounging in the sun, and a poolside restaurant.

Each bar will offer a unique spirits experience, including a Tiki Bar serving tropical cocktails featuring Hagar’s premium Sammy’s Beach Bar Rum and Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktails canned cocktails. In addition, guests can enjoy the tequila-forward Tequileria offering flights of additive-free Santo Tequila and Santo Mezquila, a unique tequila/mezcal blend by Santo Spirits, Hagar’s top-shelf tequila brand in partnership with celebrity chef Guy Fieri.

Sammy said in an interview with “SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation,” I will never announce a farewell tour, go do a long tour, and then keep going and keep going as all these other people do.

It makes me sick to do that. I would rather not say anything and just… when I do my last show, it’s my last show. I might say it then, but I’d rather not make a pre-announcement in case I wanna keep going. Catch the full interview here

What are Sammy Hagar’s Best songs? Ranking songs is rough work. We have a team of well-respected professionals that really know the music. The ranking is still somewhat subjective UNLESS you are using hard data. I love all of our ranked lists (and our pros’ passion for the music), but I also love hard data.  And by hard data, I mean opinions. LOL.  I 100% love the Facebook polls.  IF, that’s IF you’re willing to give your opinion, we’d like to hear it.  It can be a double-edged sword, but I’m willing to take that chance. If you don’t ask, you don’t get.

So I asked, “What are Sammy Hagar’s Best songs?” I thank you for your participation. I take pride in being a part of WCSX and giving the best classic rock radio we can to Detroit. One of the most important aspects of that is doing anything I can think of to make YOU a part of the experience.  It’s OUR radio station (don’t tell Beasley… they might technically own it).

“What are your favorite Sammy Songs?”

I learned some stuff.  Of our respondents, y’all REALLY LOVE some Montrose (I am totally with you).  Van Hagar received a lot of love too, but the heavy hitters at the top of the heap are mainly Sammy solo and Montrose.  Of the top 20 songs, Montrose had three entries, Sammy solo represented eleven songs, and the remaining six are Van Hagar jams.

After spending several years as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for the mid-’70s hard rock band Montrose, Sammy Hagar began a solo career that produced several hits and made him an album rock favorite. Hagar became a true star once he joined Van Halen in 1985, but he’d been a popular hard rocker ever since his first album with Montrose.

In 1985, Hagar replaced David Lee Roth in Van Halen; his first album with the group was 1986’s 5150. Hagar released his last solo album in 1987; the record was coined I Never Said Goodbye in an MTV contest. Hagar stayed with Van Halen throughout the remainder of the ’80s and half of the ’90s. During that time, the band had four other multi-platinum albums — OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge(1991), Live: Right Here, Right Now (1993), and Balance(1995) — before tensions began to surface between Hagar and the rest of the band.
