The 2022 Grammy Nominations have officially been announced. As with past years, most of the attention was paid to the general field categories and the big awards for major genres including rock, pop, hip-hop, R&B and country.

However, there were plenty of other rock nominations sprinkled throughout the various Grammy categories that were a bit under the radar and are worth celebrating. Here are 15 other notable rock nominations you may have missed.

  • AC/DC

    In addition to nominations for Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance, AC/DC’s video for “Shot In The Dark” was nominated for Best Music Video.

  • Papa Roach

    Papa Roach and remixer Spencer Bastin were recognized in the Best Remixed Recording category for “Born For Greatness (Cymek Remix.”

  • Deftones and Mike Shinoda

    Similar to Papa Roach, Deftones and remixer Mike Shinoda were recognized in the Best Remixed Recording category for “Passenger (Mike Shinoda Remix).”

  • Carole King

    Fresh off her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Carole King received a Grammy nomination in the Best Song Written For Visual Media for co-writing “Here I Am (Singing My Way Home)” with Jamie Hartman and Jennifer Hudson for the Aretha Franklin biopic Respect.

  • Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

    Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, along with Jon Batiste, received a nomination for Best Score Soundtrack For Visual Media for their work on Soul. Their work on the Soul score has already netted the trio an Academy Award and Golden Globe.

  • Stewart Copeland

    Stewart Copeland, along with Ricky Kej, received a nomination for Best New Age Album for their LP Divine Tides.

  • Bob Dylan

    Bob Dylan was part of the team from Girl From The North Country to be nominated for Best Musical Theater Album. Girl From The North Country is a musical written by Conor McPherson and features the music of Dylan.

  • Dan Auerbach

    The Black Keys’ Dan Auerbach, along with Natalie Hemby, Aaron Lee Tasjan and Yola, was nominated for Best American Roots Song for Yola’s “Diamond Studded Shoes.”

  • Prince

    Prince’s Sign O’ The Times (Super Deluxe Edition) was nominated for Best Historical Album.

  • Joni Mitchell

    Like Prince, Joni Mitchell  was nominated for Best Historical Album for Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967.)

  • Jackson Browne

    Jackson Browne received a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album for Downhill From Everywhere.

  • The Black Keys

    The Black Keys, along with Eric Deaton and Kenny Brown, were nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album for Delta Kream.

  • George Harrison

    George Harrison’s All Things Must Pass: 50th Anniversary Edition received a nomination for Best Boxed Or Special Limited Edition Package. Art directors on the release were Dareen Evans, Dhani Harrison and Olivia Harrison.

  • David Byrne

    David Byrne’s American Utopia was nominated for Best Music Film, which was directed and produced by Spike Lee, with Byrne being credited as a co-producer.

  • Jimi Hendrix

    Music, Money Madness…Jimi Hendrix In Maui was nominated for Best Music Film, which was directed and produced by John McDermott and co-produced by Janie Hendrix and George Scott.
