David Cassidy Dead At 67
After being hospitalized for a number of days, Partridge Family star David Cassidy has died at the age of 67.
Cassidy’s cause of death was due to organ failure.
Cassidy’s rep issued the following statement to E! News:
“On behalf of the entire Cassidy family, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, our uncle, and our dear brother, David Cassidy. David died surrounded by those he loved, with joy in his heart and free from the pain that had gripped him for so long. Thank you for the abundance and support you have shown him these many years.”
Cassidy, of course, is best known for the role of Keith Partridge on the hit series The Partridge Family, which helped launch his own singing career and massive teen idol status. Cassidy scored a number of hit singles as a solo artist and under The Partridge Family moniker including “I Can Feel Your Heartbeat,” “I Woke Up In Love This Morning,” “I’ll Meet You Halfway,” “Doesn’t Somebody Want To Be Wanted,” “Cherish” and the Billboard Hot 100 number one hit “I Think I Love You.”
