Massive John Lennon ‘Imagine’ Reissue Coming Out October 5
John Lennon’s classic 1971 album Imagine is getting the full reissue treatment and then some.
On October 5, a whole slew of Imagine items will be released, including the album itself, the Imagine film and the making of documentary Gimme Some Truth and a commemorative book.
The album reissue will be available in the following formats:
-The Ultimate Collection (4CD/2 Blu-ray and book)
-The Ultimate Collection digital (Features 61 tracks)
-The Ultimate Mixes 2 CD set (With extras and outtakes + 20 page book.)
-The Ultimate Mixes 1CD (With extras + 20 page book.)
-The Ultimate Mixes 2 LP on Clear Vinyl (25 tracks with poster and postcards)
-The Ultimate Mixes 2 LP on Black Vinyl (25 tracks with poster and postcards)
In honor of the reissue announcement, the original demo of “Imagine” was released and can be heard below.
Imagine and Gimme Some Truth, meanwhile, will be released on Blu-ray and DVD and also feature different raw mixes of album tracks.
The commemorative book will come in two different editions, and in a statement from Yoko Ono on the book, she said, “A lot has been written about the creation of the song, the album and the film of Imagine, mainly by people who weren’t there, so I’m very pleased and grateful that now, for the first time, so many of the participants have kindly given their time to ‘gimme some truth’ in their own words and pictures.”
