Adam Sandler and Kathy Bates’ Twitter Interaction was the Best Part of the Oscar Nominations
The Academy Awards nominations were announced yesterday, but nothing about who could win which award will match the joy that was Adam Sandler and Kathy Bates on Twitter.
Sandler, who was snubbed of a Best Actor nomination for his performance in Uncut Gems, took to Twitter to say, “Bad news: Sandman gets no love from the Academy. Good news: Sandman can stop wearing suits. Congrats to all my friends who got nominated, especially Mama.”
Sandler, of course, was referencing Bates, his co-star/Mama from the 1998 hit comedy The Waterboy who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in Richard Jewell.

Good news: Sandman can stop wearing suits.

As if that was heartwarming enough, Bates replied, in Mama character no less, with, “I love you my Bobby Boucher!!! You was robbed!! But Mama loves you!!! I learned a new urban slang word for you! You da GOAT!! Not the one we eat at home, Son.”
Seriously, if there was an Oscar for “Best Twitter” exchange, this would win in a landslide.
